Advanced Course on Vitrification of Human Oocytes, Embryos, and Ovarian Tissue 2022
The aim of the course is to provide a theoretical and practical study of a technique that has assumed a fundamental role in the field of assisted reproduction: the cryopreservation of oocytes, embryos, and ovarian tissue.
Thanks to current vitrification methods, which allow for almost complete recovery of cryopreserved embryos, a new operational strategy has been developed
- Freez all strategy.
The course will analyze various cryopreservation strategies and their applications, which currently allow the preservation of surplus embryos and the preservation of female fertility. The course focuses on the central role that embryo cryopreservation plays today in clinical embryology laboratories and in the field of assisted reproduction. In fact, thanks to the high efficiency of current vitrification methods, which enable the almost complete recovery of cryopreserved embryos, a new operational strategy has been developed, called the "Freeze-all strategy." This strategy helps to increase pregnancy rates by postponing the transfer of cryopreserved embryos to a subsequent cycle, where better endometrial receptivity can be developed compared to the stimulation cycle.
